This role primarily leads, monitors, trains, accesses risk, engages with Human Resource, and implements credit strategies to meet production, profitability, and portfolio performance for the line of business. The incumbent works closely with the LOB Head, Corporate Credit, Finance, Default Management, Pricing Optimization, Governance, National Sales, Operational Risk , Compliance and other business partners to align with corporate, and line of business initiatives.
Review credit risk strategy performance on a routine basis and report/recommend changes to Corporate Credit Risk/LOB Head. This includes Champion and Challenger processes and expected outcomes
Monitor credit or policy exceptions, charge-offs, and dealer performance to properly document trends and strategies to ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and outcomes in all locations
Assist Credit Risk and LOB Head with risk strategies implementation for indirect auto or other products with the line of business
Formulate in partnership with the National Sales Manager, Operations/Technology Manager, and other business partners dealer management programs to identify opportunities for revenue or risk based strategies for monitoring risk within the SunTrust Banks, Inc. Dealer base , portfolio, and third party partners.
Have an understanding and experience with decision engine configuration/strategies, indirect auto scorecards, and used with retail indirect credit technology systems.
Position will supervise three regional credit managers, up to 25 underwriters, and be primarily responsible for day to day origination strategy implementation and performance. Will be the primary credit interface with internal sales leadership, 3800-4000 dealerships, as well as peers within the line of business. Overall responsibility for $5-6 billion in credit originations reporting to the head of the business. Will represent Credit in pricing, strategy, technology as well as risk and compliance.
Individual will be responsible for working with a minimum of daily supervision within his team to ensure that origination, compliance, training, risk and interaction with business partners within the corporate headquarters or Atlanta area.
This individual will have the ability to negotiate with a loan authority of $400,000 per transaction, as well as development of strategy recommendations and the day to day implementation of strategy. Individual will develop strategies for training, client interaction, relationship decisions and development of origination strategies to ensure compliant, effective, and successful meeting of all corporate, line of business, and customer retention.Qualifications
Required: advanced understanding of indirect automotive management within a underwriting or risk setting including fraud, negative reserve, dealer agreements, and current regulatory environment .with at least 10 years demonstrated credit experience in indirect lending. Must have at least 2 years Profit and loss responsibility
Required: Strong proficiency with Microsoft office and or other data manipulation tools with the ability to present ideas and concepts in a clear and concise manner.

Preferred: Demonstrated ability to management of multiple tasks and projects
