Acquisition Finance Execution and Structuring, this individual will sit within the SunTrust Robinson Humphrey (“STRH”) Credit team based in Atlanta, GA and work in close partnership with the Energy and Power Investment Banking practice and Tax Equity teams. The successful candidate will underwrite and help structure and execute significant debt and tax equity transactions, and will have direct involvement in the assessment of new and existing project finance transactions. This individual will also work closely with STRH coverage bankers, syndications and credit risk to identify potential risks through analysis of complex structured transactions. Specifically, the successful candidate will manage and execute due diligence for all project finance and tax equity transactions, including technical due diligence, commercial risk, industry analysis, and financial risk. The person in this role will work closely with dedicated technical experts to analyze and understand project construction budgets and risk, evaluate power purchase agreements and other contracts, and assess the financial viability of power projects (principally natural gas, coal, wind and solar), pipeline projects and natural gas storage projects. In addition they will have a deep understanding of project finance legal documentation and a proven ability to negotiate complex transactions.
The successful candidate will have experience in Project Finance with proven knowledge and understanding of both debt and tax equity structures. In addition, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in a corporate and/or business entity related to Investment Banking and Credit. An absolute must is the ability to balance and work well among various interests including coverage banking teams, syndications, clients, credit risk managers, portfolio managers, and in-house and outsourced technical experts. Experience in the role of Lead Arranger for syndicated project finance credits is critical. The ideal candidate will quickly establish credibility on all fronts and will have the energy, knowledge and drive to serve as a thought leader within a rapidly growing business for STRH.

An undergraduate degree is required; course work in engineering is a plus. An MBA with emphasis in Accounting or Finance is preferred. FINRA Series 79/63 license is required.
