SunTrust is searching for a Senior Financial Manager to join the Wholesale Finance Team, supporting the Treasury and Payments Service line of business, reporting to the Treasury and Payments Services (T&PS) SFO as a member of the T&PS Finance team which offers exposure to the T&PS senior leadership team and interactions with leaders from other LOBs in support of treasury and payment products. In this role the teammate is responsible for performing financial analysis for numerous purposes including: strategic advice, business/product performance evaluation, risk identification, controls evaluation, and accuracy of results.   The role is responsible for analytics and research to support the LOB financial analysis and reporting, as well as developing the annual financial Plan and periodic forecasts for the T&PS product suite.  Responsibilities include developing business and finance analysis to assist the business in  improving performance, understanding business drivers underlying the financial results and for developing presentations for review with senior leadership to aid in that understanding.  In particular examining trends and drivers around product profitability, including pricing, cost drivers, and market trends.

Teammate will develop product and line of business level reporting and forecasting, coordinating input from both the product team and partners from the various lines of business (CML/CIB/CRE/PWM/CONS) and the LOB SFO teams.  The positions serves as a trusted advisor and financial consultant to various constituencies by reporting and interpreting financial and non-financial information, identifying areas of opportunity for the T&PS LOB, and acting as financial steward.

  • Responsibilities
  • Prepare, maintain, and enhance consolidated financial reporting for the T&PS LOB and business partners
  • Support the T&PS SFO team in providing quality service and financial information to business partners
  • Develop product and LOB level financial Plan and Forecast.
  • Develop presentations of financial analysis to be delivered to the senior leadership
  • Identify risks and opportunities in the financial forecast and plan. Requires identification of non-budgeted expenses and adjustments based on current trends vs. original projections. 
  • Perform in-depth analysis on key topics, such as indirect cost allocations and product trends
  • Provide analysis and support to LOB and Finance around LOB specific product trends
  • Assist with special projects, such as CCAR/DFAST, Treasury stressed scenario analysis
  • Provide profitability analytics, and any such analytics to support TPS SFO
  • Support Corporate Finance, Internal Audit, and Enterprise Risk

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance required; MBA or CPA preferred. 
  • Commercial/Corporate Deposit, Card or Payments product experience preferred
  • Strong technical and analytical skills in finance, general accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, cost allocations
  • Good understanding of the basic business disciplines in order to develop, analyze and interpret financial data
  • Previous experience with Hyperion/Essbase financial applications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with various functional groups
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skill set
  • Self-starter who can work independently while continuously delivering results
