Recommends and implements strategies to achieve sourcing goals for the specific equipment, product, and/or service with the collaboration of the natural or category owner, while maintaining quality and efficiency measures. May lead contractor workforce occasionally. Responsibilities include collaborating with the natural or category owner/vendor manager in leading a cross functional team in the development of commodity/category specifications, RFIs, RFPs, procurement contracts, sourcing project plans, and analyses of trends and conditions of the market. Additional responsibilities include leading the team, providing coaching and mentoring in the development of less experienced Commodity Managers. Must have procurement/sourcing management experience and a college degree. CPM designation desired, but not required.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. 12 years relevant experience in sourcing (and related functions). Knowledge of the market, suppliers and cost drivers. Demonstrated excellence in management of complex, high-value supplier relationships. Track record of success in supplier consolidation and driving spend to preferred suppliers, contracts, and frame agreements. Effective written and verbal communication skills. A high level of interpersonal skills and ability to engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Strong analytic skills; demonstrated ‘fact base’ development and skills. Demonstrated data and financial analysis capability, and project management experience.

Preferred Requirements: Master’s and CPM designation. Understanding of STI business and requirements related to the commodity.
