As part of the centralized Consumer Lending Sales Centers, the Technical Expert will act as a subject matter expert (SME) and assist with teammate questions and complex scenarios. The Technical Expert should be knowledgeable about ST Credit Risk Polices as well as ST Process and Procedures. Utilizes detailed consumer product knowledge to evaluate and resolve escalated issues. Responsible for the execution and delivery of critical business components as determined by Key Performance Indicators (KPI) as established and at the discretion of the LOB.
The specific responsibilities of this position will entail working with management to develop and deliver individualized training and coaching plans for new hires and teammates requiring additional training. Duties will include 1x1 training/coaching for a defined period that will include side by side, classroom, and virtual training.
High School degree or equivalent. 4 years of consumer underwriting experience. In-depth knowledge of consumer lending products and credit policy. Demonstrate ability to use sound judgment; strong communication, analytical, problem solving, communication and computer skills. Evidence of ability to analyze complex financial statements and loan documentation. Detailed knowledge of real estate industry terminology and practices and ability to review and evaluate documents. Experience training and coaching others. Satisfies regulatory requirements for holding the positions, including determined by SunTrust to meet the qualification standards imposed by the Loan Originator Compensation rule of the Truth in Lending Act.
Previous training/coaching experience strongly preferred. Candidates with this experience will be considered first. Working knowledge of all roles in the CLSC. Strong Attention to detail. Ability to work with all levels of management in the CLSC. Experience in PowerPoint and Excel. Experience in online learning system Ability to present in front of large groups. College degree in finance, accounting or business. 5 years consumer lending experience in a centralized fast pace customer service orientated STI team environment. Ability to formulate teammate learning feedback in a constructive manner in order to recommend future training and/or coaching opportunities as well as participate with Supervisors in one on one sessions with teammates with regard to their individual growth.
