Job Description

As an API Service Architect on our delivery team, you will work hands on to solve mission-critical business challenges using MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform. You will provide  technical guidance on MuleSoft implementation projects, evaluate the technical and functional requirements, designing and developing cost-effective solutions to provide SunTrust initiatives with demonstrable returns. As a subject-matter expert in the field, you will design solutions to help realize business goals and advise on best practices for on-premise, cloud, hybrid integration, and API management.


Be capable of playing different roles within the team, from lead architect to Sr developer with hands-on abilities, to technical team leader

Lead and guide a team on developing solutions that fully integrate and collaborate with existing IT systems to solve complex business requirements

Be able to design and communicate with a holistic view of enterprise solutions

Balance operational costs, security, performance, application development, and systems management

Hands-on integration development experience with at least one of the following:

MuleSoft or other solutions (e.g., Spring/Springboot framework, IBM, Oracle Fusion, TIBCO, Dell Boomi, Apigee)

API Management solutions (Apigee, Mashery, etc)

one or more on-premise/SaaS packaged COTS (Commercial Off-the-Shelf) solutions for ERP, CRM, e-Commerce, or mobile (e.g. Salesforce.com, NetSuite, Oracle, Siebel, SAP, WorkDay, etc.)

Demonstrated experience implementing multiple technical integration project SDLCs (Software Development Life Cycle) end-to-end

Demonstrated ability to effectively implement solutions within a diverse technical teams, SIs, contractors, and cross workstream teams

Contribute integration artifacts to internal initiatives to enrich API Services practices

Working knowledge of on-premise infrastructure and cloud-based deployments and configurations along with monitoring and management

Experience developing, profiling, and troubleshooting Java application code and automated testing tools

Experience in completing technical design documentation and technical reference materials for client/internal consumption

Experience working with Agile teams and good understanding of Agile principles is a must


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience as an architect/developer or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices. Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function. Ability to plan and manage projects. Ability to solve complex problems by applying best practices. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates. Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information. Experience working with Agile teams.


Preferred Requirements:


Master's degree or MBA and 6 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Banking or financial services experience.

Knowledge about API design standards, patterns and best-practices

Proven track record of acting as SME for API projects

Knowledge and experience designing and implementing SOA and API Governance

Strong Object Oriented skills - OOA/OOD/OOP.

Strong experience in Java/J2EE, Python, UNIX Shell Scripting, JUnit and testing frameworks (like Mockito, Jmock, etc).

Strong experience in Spring/Springboot framework, Spring Security and Hibernate (or other JPA technologies).

Strong experience with web technologies such as HTML, XML, JavaScript, JSON.

Strong experience with API Strategy, including API Management and Governance.

Strong experience with relational databases like Oracle, MySQL, etc.

Knowledge of build tool such as Maven (preferred), Continuous Integration (CI) tool such as Jenkins (preferred) and Agile Software Development Tools like JIRA (preferred).

Solid understanding of Web-based authentication/authorization technologies (e.g. OAuth, JWT, SAML, and OpenID).

Effective written and verbal communication skills and good listening skills.

Excellent problem solving skills - Ability to analyze problem in multiple perspectives.

Must have a -can-do- attitude and a strong passion for technology and willingness to learn new skills.

Must be confident, self-starters, have a strong work ethic, and team-oriented.

ITIL, Mulesoft, and TOGAF Certifications
