This role will be responsible for daily operations of data protection and discovery platforms in order to protect sensitive data and information. This individual will work as part of a team charged with identifying and proactively providing data protection capabilities to the enterprise by using tools to classify data, restrict access where appropriate, and provide thoughtful solutions to the data security needs of the bank.
This individual should be able to understand the complex nature of data in all its forms (e.g. structured, unstructured, etc.) and provide input into how data should be protected. This will require creativity to develop tactics and strategies to identify data using tools or analysis and make recommendations or execute processes to ensure the data is protected in accordance with policy, standards and best practices.
This individual will help ensure data protection methods are enforced and controls remain reliable. This will include reporting and analysis, as well as, direct interface with technical and business teams for proactive and reactive efforts.
This individual would often be tasked with projects of varying complexity and must be willing and able to balance several efforts at once.
This role will be instrumental in not only day to day protection mechanisms but also in developing and executing against the data protection strategy.
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience in IT security or access management or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Knowledge of information security programs and ability to apply that knowledge in practice. Ability to manage competing priorities. Ability to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using experience, judgment and precedents. Experience participating in projects. Ability to communicate complex information in straightforward situations. Experience documenting requirements using Structured Analysis Techniques such as Use Cases, Entity Relationship Diagrams, Process Decomposition Diagrams and Workflows.
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices. Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates. Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information. Banking or financial services experience. Experience with access management lifecycle including relevant tool suites. Knowledge of administering Hadoop or similar big data environments. Advanced Excel skillset and ability to work with large datasets for analysis. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Knowledge or experience related to processes of SunTrust Segments/Functions. Windows system administration experience. Experience working NAS and SAN devices. Experience creating system and process level documentation. Ability to take business centric requirements from legal, regulator or best practices and translate them into technical capabilities. Direct experience with data discovery tools for both structured and unstructured data sets.
