This Attorney 2 position is part of the Legal Procurement Contracting team of SunTrust Banks, Inc. and its affiliates. This position will be responsible for drafting and negotiating contracts with SunTrust's third-party providers of a variety of services and technology products. Specifically, the attorney will support Corporate Risk, Finance, certain consulting relationships and general technology engagements.
The Legal Procurement Contracting team provides legal services related to the acquisition of technology, consulting, and other products and services for SunTrust’s various lines of business and functional areas. Procurement Contracting works with Strategic Sourcing, Corporate Third Party Risk Management, Information Security, and other stakeholders to ensure that all legal, regulatory, data security, and related risks are appropriately identified and addressed in vendor contracts.
The Procurement Contracting team is also responsible for advising clients regarding existing contractual obligations and helping manage vendor disputes. Qualifications
§ J.D. from accredited law school
§ Excellent oral and written communication skills
§ Ability to independently manage competing priorities on a regular basis
§ Experience negotiating technology and service contracts
§ Large law firm experience
§ At least 3 years of experience negotiating technology and service contracts
§ Experience in the financial services industry
§ Experience on the “buy side” of services and technology contracts
§ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other word processing applications and database management applications
§ Familiarity with Ariba and Archer
