Ensure the overall effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of underwriting. Manages all Underwriting Supervisors and their Underwriting teams. Has regular interaction with all levels of Divisional Sales Leadership Teams. Ensures adherence to underwriting guidelines, responsive problem resolution, achievement of quality client service, and production expectations. Manages and maintains authority over the daily mortgage loan underwriting operations, including daily underwriting pipeline management. Conducts 2nd tiers reviews, as necessary. Ensure process adherence, precision and excellence. Handles loan level escalations and are the final point of escalations in the campus. May interact with external clients and should develop good partnerships with all internal clients. Incumbent is a member of the Retail Division’s Underwriting Leadership with responsibility for identifying and implementing process improvements. Also, Incumbent would be a leading member of the Retail Division’s Closing Leadership with responsibility for spearheading process improvement initiatives across all Retail Campuses. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: Communication, organizational and analytical abilities typically acquired through attainment of an Undergraduate degree. 10 years mortgage underwriting and credit experience. 10 years of management experience in a centralized production environment. In-depth knowledge of credit policy, mortgage products, loan documentation, compliance/related laws, other real estate industry terminology and practices. Ability to qualify for the highest lending level of authority required by the campus.
Preferred Requirements: College degree in (Finance or Business Administration review environment. Strong background knowledge of mortgage lending guidelines. A DE and VA SAR are required.
