Job Description
The Business Learning Strategist role manages learning for the Corporate Functions.  Role is responsible for partnering with COE’s, Support Services, HRBP, and business leaders to assess learning needs and set learning strategies aligned to their assigned LOB/Functional goals/priorities.  Partners with internal instructional design and delivery SME’s to design learning solutions and solicits needed resources from business to support design and development.  Manages the learning budget for the area of support. The Business Learning Strategist is the single point of contact for HR Business Partners and Line of Business Leaders for training projects and initiatives.  Responsible for collaborating with internal business partners and external vendors to select, plan and evaluate learning solutions; for monitoring effectiveness of the content, SunTrust’s satisfaction, and ensuring all contractual and invoicing functions are followed in accordance with STI policy. Manages ongoing portfolio of curriculum assets for an LOB or competency area; evaluates alignment and cross-utilization of content to reduce redundancies; recommends maintenance, redesign, or retirement of curriculum assets.  As a subject matter expert may lead complex enterprise learning strategies and initiatives for the organization or on cross functional teams. Position may be asked to mentor others.



Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10 years of experience in consulting with business leaders to develop solutions to meet business needs within a large corporate environment
  • Ability to think strategically about learning and development as a business strategy; solve complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate, identify and plan for obstacles or barriers to learning & development solutions
  • Ability to build solid working relationship at all levels and particularly with corporate leadership and peers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; skilled at influencing and coaching business leaders on learning strategies
  • Accomplished at collaborating with internal business partners to develop complex learning projects
  • Ability to manage a budget across a client group
  • Demonstrate ability to serve as best practice quality expert within and outside of own discipline
 Preferred Requirements: 
  • Advanced degree in field related to human resource or business
  • Knowledge of and applicable usage of various methodologies - ILT (Instructor Lead Training), VILT (Virtual Instructor Led Training), WBT (Web Based Training), social learning tools, or a blend of solutions
  • Experience with multiple learning modalities such as collaborative learning, mentoring, social learning and mobile learning
  • Engaged in learning industry or human resource professional organizations
