Conducts complex security related assessments as part of SunTrust’s Information Security program and processes. May manage an on-going relationship with an assigned business unit. Applies a deep understanding of business processes and technologies used within assigned business units to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and SunTrust's applicable standards, policies, and procedures. May interface with end-users as well as all levels of management, Senior Executives, and technical and business sources. Serves as a technical resource to others and reviews work performed by less experienced IT security teammates. May serves as program owner and provided maintenance of program documentation, procedures and processes to ensure compliance with changes in business or regulatory drivers. May be responsible for research, investigation, quality review, analysis, interpretation and reporting of security incidents. Consults with managers, third parties, and other business resources in support of security governance and incident solutions to meet business objectives and regulatory requirements. May participate in or even lead IT security development initiatives. Typically leads moderately complex initiatives and participates in larger, more complex initiatives. Solves complex technical and operational problems. Acts as a resource for teammates with less experience. May have people management responsibilities for a small team.Qualifications
Minimum Requirements – Grade 48
Bachelor’s degree in and 5 years of experience in IT security, audit, or other related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices. Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the Information Security function. Ability to plan and manage projects. Ability to solve complex problems by applying best practices. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates. Ability to interpret and communicate complex, difficult, or sensitive information.
Minimum Requirements – Grade 49
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience in IT security or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Deep specialized and/or broad functional knowledge. Sound understanding of business and organizational strategies and processes. Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices. Ability to lead complex projects. Sophisticated analytical skills and the ability to
solve complex technical and business problems. Ability to influence others at senior levels to adopt a new perspective
