The Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for supporting one or more Investment Advisors in different locations along with their book of clients. In this position, monthly investment reports and quarterly client meeting materials will be compiled using holdings and performance information from multiple internal and third party sources. The Portfolio Analyst will learn all aspects of the Investment Advisor’s client relationships and develop the ability to field any client questions. This includes a detailed understanding of client Investment Policy Statements as well as spending needs, risk/return expectations and overall investment goals. Light administrative tasks will also be performed in this job.
The Portfolio Analyst will use a variety of software packages to create model portfolios and generate fee schedules to assist with new client proposals. The position will work in close cooperation with Investment Advisors, Client Managers, Business Development Officers and other SunTrust lines of business. A strong understanding of general investment vehicles (mutual funds, separately managed accounts, ETFs, partnerships) and asset classes (public and private equity, fixed income, alternatives) combined with a desire to learn more about the investment management field is a must. Progress towards or desire to obtain the CFA designation is a plus.
Undergraduate degree with a focus in economics, business, finance or accounting or equivalent work experience.
Excellent PC skills with all Microsoft Office applications as well as an ability to learn new programs.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple requests. Prior work experience or exposure to investment management.
