Job DescriptionReview/preparation of state corporate income tax returns and all related work papers.Research and interpret tax laws, regulations, court decisions and administrative guidance, as well as accounting pronouncements, for state tax return filings and related state audits.Perform general ledger queries, account analysis, and other accounting research to understand how transactions were recorded for book accounting purposes.Review/preparation of ASC 740 state income tax accounting calculations and work papers.Answer state income tax audit information document requests.Responsible for moderate to complex special tax projects.Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: College degree in Accounting and 5 years in public accounting or a large corporation. Complete understanding of tax law and Federal and State income tax concepts with advanced tax technical research skills. Knowledge of tax return software, Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Ability to clearly and concisely communicate in verbal and written form highly complex tax information to be clearly understood by non-tax professionals. Tax technical writing skills, planning and organizing skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage complex projects.
Preferred Qualifications: CPA or Masters degree.
